Combining clinical data, molecular biology and biostatistics, the proposed project aimed to define new biomarkers for risk prediction and early diagnosis of GBM recurrence.

 

          The specific objectives of this project are:

          1) Screening and molecular classification of GBM subtypes in patients from the North East region of Romania;

          2) Quantifying circulating plasma MVs and GBM-specific markers on circulating plasma MVs;

          3) Identifying and validating the GBM-specific miRNA signature in circulating MVs;

          4) Quantifying circulating MV-associated miRNA expression levels at post-treatment follow-up evaluations of GBM patients;

          5) Defining the predictive potential of specific MV-associated miRNAs for GBM recurrence.
